Scott Beaver cuts his own hair.
He lives with his cat, dividing his spare time between art, backpacking, snowboarding and riding his motorcycle. He loves the Dodgers, robots and rainy days.
Scott was interested in art from an early age and was encouraged by his parents and peers to pursue the various forms of illustration and sculpture. Out of high school, he concentrated on studying various forms of art at the local junior college. He had always had an interest for character animation and began looking for schools that offered courses in it. He was fortunate to find Allan Hancock, a junior college in Santa Maria offering a beginning animation course and promptly enrolled. He first began figure drawing there and found it to be one of the best exercises for drawing. Later, Scott studied 2D animation at Cogswell Polytechnic College in Sunnyvale, California. While there, he learned about filmmaking; from creating a story and storyboarding to editing and producing a soundtrack. While he finds most pleasure in drawing portraits with a pencil or pen, he is very comfortable with Photoshop and Illustrator and uses them often. Currently, he assists designer Rod Dyer with various logos and graphic layouts.
Scott has created storyboards for short film projects and animated in both 2D and stop motion. He has also illustrated comic books, designed tee shirts and children's books. His influences have mostly been from pop culture. He watched too much television in the eighties, so he gets most of the jokes made on "Family Guy". He has always been fascinated with the characters used in advertising as well as 1970's science fiction. He enjoys all forms of animation from Pixar to Brad Neely.
